The 4th International Symposium of Water Disaster Mitigation and Water Environment Regulation (WDWE2024)
The theme of the forthcoming WDWE2024 is Coastal and Urban Resilience under Climate Change. This symposium will be an interdisciplinary platform that aims to promote face-to-face communication among international scholars on state-of-the-art research for mitigating the impacts of intensified water-related disasters under the changing climate. This event will offer an opportunity for experts worldwide to share their latest findings, innovative solutions, and best practices in climate change adaptation, water disaster prevention, and sustainable development. A highlight of WDWE2024 is the call for a special session of The 14th South China Sea Tsunami Workshop with the extended invitation of experts on tsunamis globally.
Following the success of the preceding symposiums held in Chengdu, China, the WDWE2024 will be co-organized by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Sichuan University, Sun Yat-sen University, Research Institute for Sustainable Urban Development, Research Institute for Land and Space, and supported by IAHR-HK Chapter, IAHR-China Chapter and relevant government departments of Hong Kong SAR. We now take this opportunity to invite participants to submit abstracts and register interest in oral presentations or posters, and attend guided tours to appreciate the local heritage.
Awards will be granted to outstanding presenters. Excellent papers will be recommended to the journal Engineering Applications of Computational Fluid Mechanics (JCR Q1, CAS Q1). We look forward to hosting every delegate with another successful symposium in Hong Kong.
